American Born Chinese

American Born Chinese

By Gene Luen Yang

Published by Roaring Book Press (2006)

Genre: Multicultural, graphic novel, humor, friends and society

Disclaimer: Adolescent drama, and monkeys!

Pages: 240

This has three different stories going on. First you have the story of the Monkey King that tries to be more than he is and is taught he is just a monkey. Then there is Jin who is trying to be cool and get the girl. Lastly is Danny, who can't figure out why his cousin from China is trying to ruin his life. They are brought together in a really cool way in the end.

I loved the soap in the armpits part. That was so funny! I also liked how it was all brought together in the end. This was an easy and fun book to read.
